Curious why our campus isn’t 100% solar powered? Want to make things happen? Come take part in the hottest new internship program on campus! The Environmental Sustainability Coordinator is looking for ambitious, active students to make a difference on campus. We are on the brink of something great – this fall we will be developing a plan to reduce our greenhouse gas emissions 80% – no small feat for anyone! We will be working on projects throughout the campus to help make the operations more sustainable, as well as raise awareness of environmental issues for everyone on campus. There are a number of different ways you can get involved as a sustainability intern, through researching relevant issues, to planning events, to designing our newsletter. Issues of sustainability affect everyone, and everyone is encouraged to get involved in finding sustainable solutions to some of our pressing issues on campus.
There are currently two positions open for general Sustainability Internships, and one open for a New Media Internship for Sustainability.
- Sustainability Interns should be comfortable doing independent research on a variety of issues related to energy use, conservation and sustainability. Interns will be involved in planning of campus events and outreach to the campus community through special projects and programs.
- New Media interns will assist with the electronic Sustainability Newsletter and upkeep of the Sustainability Website. They may also be called upon o assist with advertising for events and occasional publications as well as relevant research.
Who should apply:
Students from all majors who are passionate about making Purchase a better place to live and learn should apply. Schedules are flexible, but will require one mandatory weekly meeting with the rest of the Sustainability Team.

4 Credits = (10 hours per week for 15 weeks)
