Anna Anthropy is an American video game designer and critic. Her freeware games include Mighty Jill Off, REDDER, and Lesbian Spider Queens of Mars, and she is a co-founder and associate editor of The Gamer’s Quarter. Her games explore the relationship between sadism and game design; Anthropy’s games challenge players’ expectations of what the developer should create and how the player should be reprimanded for errors. As a transgender woman, Anna Anthropy represents the underrepresented in video game culture. Rise of the Videogame Zinesters, released earlier this year through Seven Stories Press, promotes the idea of “small, interesting, personal experiences by hobbyist authors … Zinesters exists to be a kind of ambassador for that idea of what video games can be.” The book also deals with a detailed analysis of the mechanics and potentialities of digital games, including the idea that games can be more usefully compared to theater than film. Anthrophy attended Purchase College for a short time, and will be premiering her new book, Star Wench, at Zinefeast!

Dean Haspiel is an American comic artist. He is known for his collaborations with writer Harvey Pekar on his American Splendor series as well as the graphic novel The Quitter. He has been nominated for numerous Eisner Awards, and won a 2010 Emmy Award for TV design work for HBO’s Bored to Death. Haspiel is a SUNY Purchase alumni who did cartoons for The Load (Purchase’s first campus publication). He will be discussing an exciting project centered around a 20th anniversary of the various artists featured in The Load from his time at SUNY Purchase; visit Trip City for more information.

Coordinator of Public Affairs, and may be responsible for similar duties

within their expertise as needed, such as graphic design, social media,

etc.  The position provides a $50 stipend biweekly.

Webmaster Job Duties:

€ Plans site design by clarifying goals; designing functionality.

€ Develops site navigation by categorizing content; funneling traffic

through content.

€ Search engine optimization of the PSGA website.

€ Upgrades site by updating content and graphics; monitoring performance

and results; identifying and evaluating improvement options; introducing

new technology; maintaining links.

The Graphic Design & Marketing Intern is responsible for assisting with all print design and production of final products, while supporting the digital media department with various ongoing

Projects include brochures, posters, flyers, invitations, updating Company website and other additional print collateral. The position will be mentored and supervised by the Department Designer and Digital Media Manager with the possibility of a permanent placement.

The successful candidate must have the following important skills, traits and experience:

Strong portfolio of previous print projects
Knowledge and experience in using print design applications, including Quark Xpress, InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator
Knowledge of Final Cut Pro and IMovie a plus
Able to work 16-24 hours a week
